Statewide Initiative, Parents and Caregivers for Wellness (PC4W)

After nearly a year, a lot of ground has been covered.

PC4W is funded by a grant awarded by the Oversight and Accountability Commission (OAC) for the Mental Health Service Act (MHSA) nearly a year ago. Made up of numerous advocacy agencies, including California Mental Health Advocates for Children and Youth (CMHACY), the coalition has held Regional trainings for both parents and professionals across the state. PC4W has also held two statewide meetings one of which was held this past May at the 2018 CMHACY Conference at Asilomar in Pacific Grove.

One of the “corner stones” of the PC4W Initiative is to gather critical information, directly from parents and caregivers, reflecting the true wants and needs in the efforts of raising children and youth who struggling with social/emotional and behavioral challenges.

This information is collected by a parent/caregiver survey that has been widely distributed across the state. With this critical feedback, the PC4W coalition will design trainings, educational sessions, materials and other supports for parents and caregivers.

The greater the feedback, the greater will be the designs of the supports that parents and caregivers really need. Help PC4W better meet the needs of parents and caregivers by taking a few moments to fill out the survey accessed through the link below, or, go to CMHACY.org and click at the top of the Home Page, “Parent/Caregiver Survey”.

If so desired, filling out the survey online will still allow parents and caregivers to remain anonymous. Specifically, a parent of caregiver does not have to submit her or his name, or any other identifying information.

Thank you in advance for helping PC4W better serve and support parents and caregivers.
